A point of convergence for industry, education, and research.
Monash Tech School delivers programs focused on design thinking, prototyping and product delivery, geared toward preparing students for Victoria’s growing priority sectors.
Hosted by Monash University, Monash Tech School is at the nexus of leading industry precincts, positioned close to excellent secondary schools, and supported by exceptional tertiary providers. We deliver real-world experiences to school groups from the City of Monash region, through hands-on, deep learning programs that are designed and facilitated by industry experts.
Our program design methodology looks to complement and build on existing STEM and Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences curriculums in the Secondary Education Sector. The resulting program offerings incorporate industry, tertiary and research specialists at every step of the way, ensuring students gain the skills and capabilities required for the future of work.
We have partnered with government secondary schools in the Monash City region to amplify engagement with STEM.
We deliver innovative education programs, framed by design thinking, that are aligned with teaching offered by partner schools and mapped against the Victorian Curriculum. Through industry and research partnerships, our programs keep pace with rapidly developing STEM technology and cutting edge research in Victoria’s priority sectors.
Students who visit Monash Tech School leave with adaptable skills and in-depth knowledge that leverages current and emerging industry developments. They use the latest technology including robotics, virtual reality, 3D printing and industry-quality lab equipment to creatively solve problems.
Programs are led by a mix of Tech School staff, partner school staff, experts from tertiary education and industry professionals.
The Tech School Initiative
As part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to building the Education State, 10 Tech Schools have been built in communities across Victoria.
The world is becoming more globalised, automated, fast-paced and interconnected. The world of work is transforming at a rapid pace. So how do we prepare the students of today for the jobs of tomorrow?
The Victorian Government’s $128 million Tech Schools initiative is preparing Victorian students for the world and work of the future.
Three-quarters of the fast-growing industries and occupations require science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) skills and knowledge. Student engagement, retention and achievement in STEM is critical.
Victorian Government funded Tech Schools use innovative, leading-edge technology and discovery to give Victorian secondary school students the skills they need to flourish in the global economy. They are a link between schools and industry to provide innovative learning programs.
Global Skills, Local Relevance
We work with industry and tertiary research partners to create a shared, high-tech learning environment.
Each Victorian Tech School is located on a Victorian TAFE or university campus and governed in collaboration with schools, industry and other stakeholders. They are locally driven and have a unique focus on industries that have been identified as offering the greatest economic and job growth potential in that area.
