On Sunday the 19th of February, the Melbourne RoboCats added the final touches to their robot before they head to Woolooga in March to compete in the 2023 FIRST Robotics Competition Southern Cross Regional.
Over the past six weeks they have spent over 100 hours brainstorming, designing, building, wiring, coding and testing their robot.
This year their robot consists of three mechanisms; a claw to interact with game pieces, a vertical translation pulley system and a horizontal translation pulley system, to allow for cones and cubes to be picked up and placed on various points on the field.
This year has been a significant milestone for the team with close to 30 girls participating in the season.
