Last Friday, Monash Tech School welcomed 101 students and 44 industry professionals from 21 organisations to our facility for Career Launchpad. This year, we also piloted our first Career Launchpad session for 30 Monash University undergraduate students, in collaboration with Monash University.

The event was opened by Associate Professor Susie Ho, Senior Academic Director, Industry and Immersive Experiences (Rich Experiences), at Monash University, who delivered inspirational opening remarks on the urgency of climate change action. Susie highlighted the importance of emerging roles and career pathways for our young people who are actively seeking to secure a sustainable future for the next generation. And most important of all, Susie urged us all to hope that, by working together, we can make a sustainable future a reality.

Through fast-paced conversations, students led the discussion and gained insight from experts working across renewable energy, manufacturing, engineering, and more about pathways, career opportunities, industry experiences, and the real-world applications of sustainable practices in an evolving world.

Following Career Launchpad, 100% of students found the program interesting and enjoyed it overall, with 99% saying they learned something new and 92% saying it made them want to explore new ideas.

From an industry perspective, 81% of industry attendees thought the event was worthwhile and would recommend Career Launchpad to their colleagues or networks.

We extend our thanks to Associate Professor Susie Ho and Monash University for their continued support of this event, and to the The Cart Co for serving up delicious coffee.
We also extend heartfelt thanks to all the industry attendees who generously volunteered their time to inspire the next generation of STEM innovators!
